Vacant Space Brochure
by Kasper Pyndt
“While spending five days in the Paris-apartment of my friend and fellow designer, Adrien Ménard, we decided to do a project together. The limited time became an engine to act on intuition and not overthink decisions – something we both tend to do.
We were talking about the fact that Paris ranks as the World’s 3rd most popular tourist destination, and we agreed that famous monuments such as The Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame were representing a preconceived “postcard experience” rather than a real moment of originality. As a reaction to this we searched for places that seemed “unvisited”, still and vacant. Places where one could find a room to breathe. We documented our explorations in a limited edition of cheaply produced brochures to be handed out to whoever might be interested.”
