“A publication about a project by Kasper Zwaaneveld. He wrote a story about a fictitious person, a persona and presented this in a (news)paper. After reading the story I realised I still knew next to nothing about this persona. There were just too many blanks. He says, he walks, he understands. I don’t know him. And on top of that is the knowledge that this story is about someone who does not really exist. What makes a person real and alive are his actions, an active or passive act, mental or physical and everything in between. This doing and thinking states itself in language through verbs. By focusing only on the verbs used in the story in relation to the persona, a new story exists and with that a new persona. By emphasizing on the being and the non-being, the lively and not so lively sides of the persona are being contrasted. The publication functions as both a fold-in as well as a seperate piece.”
